Plant Photography

For best identification of any plant you need (ideally):

Photos

• Two AVERAGE leaves flat-laid (1 upperside and 1 underside)
• Flowers (side and front)/Fruits - if any
• Leaf Arrangement on twig (showing if they pair, alternate, or circle round)
• The above can all be arranged into a single photo shoot by taking two leaves and photoing them with/beside a small end-branch.
• If possible also, a photo of the shape of the whole plant (and for trees, also a photo of trunk with bark, and branches out)
• In a forum, remember to link the photos together in a comment.

Commentary to Add

• Location : Country or US State? - (Putting your location in your forum name helps!)
• Habitat : Mountain, Coast, Inland? Wet, Dry? Rocky, Sandy, Soily? Shady, Light, Both? Wooded, Open?
• Hairiness : Hairy/Woolly/Smooth : on Stem? on New Twig Growth? on Leaf Undersides?
• Leaf : Length x Width? has Stem? - Leaves Flimsy/Thick? Waxy?
• Other : Any other useful observations!
